Call for papers « the Guardians of the earth » - Les Reclusiennes 2014

Researchers involved both in scientific reflexion and research action are welcome to this Conference which is meant to be a confrontation scene on the theme of « the earth as territory, production tool and living substance ».

Each communication will be followed by a round table offering opportunities to debate with politicians, representatives of organizations or individual participants, since popular education is also at stake.

Answers to the call for papers are expected before March 15th 2014 at the following address : conf@lesreclusiennes.fr

This call is addressed to the international scientific community, and to all actors concerned by food production and relationships to land : researchers, elected representatives, association leaders, citizens. We expect finalized or on-going research works as well as critical reports on experiences and field projects, under the form of articles.

Format and calendar

Selected abstracts will be the subject of an 18 minute-long communication for one of the several thematic sessions of the Reclusiennes on July 10, 11 or 12 2014.

Abstracts should be submitted as texts of 1500 characters maximum, including the name and status of the author. In addition, bibliographic references (5 max) and a synthetic biography of the author(s), max 400 characters, will be provided.

Calendar :

April 1st 2014 – Analysis of submissions. The scientific committee will give answers by May 28th 2014 at the latest.

June 1st 2014 –Authors will have sent the full text of their communication.

July 10-11-12 2014 – Conference les Reclusiennes in Sainte Foy la Grande, France.

Publication: Articles produced for the Guardians of the Earth Conference will be published, if accepted, in the International webjournal Anthropology of Food. Texts will have between 6000 and 8000 words, footnotes and bibliography included. Authors need to conform to the editorial norms as detailed in the Guidelines for Authors, http://aof.revues.org/6898, as they send their text before June 1st.
